Microsoft to add Mac like “cloud download” to the Windows 10 installation

Microsoft has taken a leaf out of Apple’s Mac division. Providing details about an upcoming feature that has the potential to change the way Windows is installed. For years, .Apple users have had the ability to download MacOS directly to their machine when completing a system rebuild or factory restore.

There are many benefits to this form of OS deployment.

First, to prevent the spread of deep infection viruses, Windows users will have the option to download a fresh copy from Microsoft directly. This alleviates the problem of the virus/malware surfacing again.

Second, it enables Users to perform Re-builds and Re-images themselves, in a way that is easy to use. Microsoft advises that, while it is not complete right now, it should be available soon to fast ring developers.

Additionally, it currently uses the same image source as Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. This means that the format won’t be tied in with the horrible Windows update platform.
