5G roll-out and coverage update, the next generation is here

With the release of Samsung’s new Galaxy S10 5G, many are wondering what the current 5G coverage looks like. With many 5G capable phonesa set to be released in the coming months, the 5G roll-out really needs to have a substantial amount of active towers before many buyers will consider purchasing a capable device.

Currently its only Telstra that has any towers up and running . Though Optus and Vodafone have both promised over 1000 active sites by early 2020.

Roll-out began mid last year at selected sites around Australia. But currently only area’s around the Brisbane Airport, Fortitude Valley and certain parts of the CBD have access to the network.

Telstra claims that real world speeds will be upwards of 2 Gbps. Though the theoretical top speed is up to 10 Gbps. Though we definitely wont be getting anywhere near that speed any time soon.
